Hospital Billing Fraud

Due to 100% fault of my own I have woke in a few hospitals. Though I am not proud of this accomplishment, I did learn many things from it. First, catheters hurt really bad no matter what anyone says. Additionally I learned that billing fraud is very common at hospitals. One time I was billed about 10 bills for one few hour visit. Its not that the 10 bills bothered me, but that these hospital bills kept coming and some of them repeated.

I am not sure if I paid a few of the bills a few times, but one comes to mind. I paid the hospital $750 for this bill, and the next thing I know they sent an exact copy of that bill to my mother. She sent it in to her insurance, who had about $400 of the fraud reduced from that one bill. Let us not forget that I had already paid the full hospital bill once before.

I also woke once with a catheter in me. I was given an IV for my messed up night. While I do not like the idea of having an IV, there were no other means of nourishment into my body. The problem with this is that I still got charged $10 for a meal I could have never ate. I know that $10 does not mean much, but it only shows how arrogant they are in overcharging and how blatantly they commit fraud at hospitals (or at least that day at the one I visited on that day). We can accept that $10 as an honest mistake, just like the double billing, but the $400?
